One of our oldest project was born from one simple question- how ancient food and drink tasted like? We started to develop recipes according to ancient roman receipt book “De re Cuqionaria libri X” by Marcus Apitius, basing as much as possible on original ingredients and using authentic tools (our Pompeian grill is only such device in Poland) and cooking methods. Effects are…difficult to describe. The only way is to visit us and check it by yourself!
Since for historian cooking and food is not only about eating, you will also learn about roman social contexts, ways of eating (remember- table is one of the oldest indicators of your social position) and different stories and anecdotes that came with it. After the presentation you will have occasion to taste our food and drink spicy hot wine made by us. Of course, unless our gladiators will not drink it before you.
